DAWEI Saviga Golden V
This is a special version of the Saviga V long pins.
The Golden version has almost no grip, so this rubber is very similar in characteristics to glass pins. It offers excellent control, minimal reaction to spin, and maximum reverse spin on the block—and beyond.
The ball feel is quite firm. The speed is not slow, but not very fast either.
The topsheet (the rubber from which the pips protrude) is thick and dense, so unlike the Golden Monster 77 and Golden Super Block, this rubber can be easily mounted on a sponge. And it’s not very difficult to glue it with rubber adhesive.
You can hit high balls with good accuracy. Such a shot is the most difficult for an opponent; it is much more dangerous than a shot from a smooth rubber or one with strong-grip pimples.
Play at the table is comfortable for the player using this rubber and frustrating for the opponent. Not just passive blocking, of course, but if you play actively and intelligently.
What can it be compared to? Among more or less similar rubbers, one could mention the DR NEUBAUER Punch. They are similar in speed. The feel is also more or less the same. The Punch, of course, has stronger spin, so the reverse spin on the Saviga Golden V is noticeably stronger.
Factory-direct delivery—no tape included.
Since these are essentially glass spikes, they may not be permitted in competitions with racket inspections (such as the World Championships or the Olympics). Or they might be. We haven’t checked. Technically, they are on the ITTF list. We simply don’t know how well these rubbers pass instrument inspection.
Please note that the label on the rubber is no different from the standard (sticky) Saviga V. They’re just made of different materials and even differ in color shade if you place both versions side by side. And to the touch, one is sticky, the other isn’t.
